Ting had Taekwondo "Office-Hours"
this morning and Randy stayed home doing chores around the house. Instead
of cooking at home, we went out for burgers at the Flipper's down the hill
in Montclair. One of the best things we love about our house is that while
it is secluded in the Oakland Hills, it is only five minutes drive to Montclair.
We used to live in La Honda, which is also secluded, but about half-hour from
any grocery store.
Montclair is a very quaint little village with lots of shops and eateries
clustered in a four-block area. Flipper's sits a few doors down from Peet's.
The restaurant's walls sport "world clocks", each clock reading a different
time that corresponds to the time at the place painted below the clock. We
sat in the "Madrid" booth. The burgers were decent. Ting had a French Lovers
Burger which was topped with spinach and feta cheese. Unfortunately, the feta
cheese retained a "goat-y" taste which Ting did not enjoy. Randy had a turkey
patty with cheddar and avocado.
