We decided to have dinner
at the Santa Cruz Brewing Company and Front Street Pub. With TC, having dinner
anywhere else except at a brew pub is almost unheard of. Ting remembered
one time when he embarked on a "brewpub tour" where he visited brewpubs across
several states. The walls of the brewpub were
lined with various historic pictures of Lighthouse Point, although the connection
of the brewpub to Lighthouse Point escaped us. We chose a table with
a good view of the stage, so we could check out the blues band playing that
evening.
After dinner, we went by The Crepe Place for dessert. The Crepe Place was
a popular bistro which served a variety of crepes, including both dinner and
dessert crepes, as well as other non-crepe entrees. The place was packed when
we got there, but we managed to squeeze into the last available table.
The ambiance in the bistro is reminiscent of a vintage diner,
complete with hardwood furniture and festive etched tiles in the ceiling.
Outside the Crepe Place, a cardboard cop holding a "Slow" sign was put up
to remind pedestrians and skateboarders to slow down long enough to pop in.
