Since
it was Mother's Day, there was a long line of people waiting for seats stretching out the door of Chau Chow City and into the
street. Given that the Dim-Sum portion of the restaurant was on the 2nd floor,
that was a pretty long line! Pop went to get seats while we parked. Resigned
to an hour-long wait, we went up to the 2nd floor to find Pop comfortably
seated at a table! Wow, I guess it did pay off to get friendly with the staff!
The food took longer to come around because of the large numbers of people,
but having dim-sum is a lot like having sushi - everything comes at once,
so you fill up fast and furious. And with Chinese parents, no matter how
much you eat, they expect you to eat more!
We got a picture of Mr. Leung when he came around to greet us. Mr. Leung
is a floor manager. He always comes around with a smile and loads of good-natured
teasing. My mom thought he should not be posing with her as his wife might
get jealous. Hey! How about Pop?!?
An hour later, we waddled contentedly out of the restaurant.
